Once upon a time there were pilgrimages in Spain along the routes to the city of Santiago de Capostela. Weary travelers in need of lodging, looked for a house or hostel in front of which were three cypress trees. They knew immediately that there would be shelter, a warm hearth and food within to refresh them.

At Cliffwood Inn, you will find that same spirit of welcome and hospitality in the early 1890’s mansion of “belle époque” beauty. Built in the Stanford White style for an ambassador to France, the polished, inlaid hardwood floors, high ceilings and spacious rooms evoke memories of gracious living during those turn-of-the-century days.
